One valid analogy is with the latest
performance leap in digital High Definition (HD) source & three chip
projector picture quality over traditional VHS tape & CRTV. The new
digital technology has now reached a high enough level of performance to
be truly convincing and engrossing. The picture quality is close enough to
reality for the eye/brain combination to be fooled into a "you are there"
state of mind. This makes viewing a very pleasurable and exciting

Overkill Audio has made an even greater

We relish the marketing challenge and our
first goal of dispelling the myth of cone and dome / passive crossover
based systems has already been achieved. One of our £50K systems easily
out performs any £500K "lunatic fringe" priced system which
still uses passive crossovers, cones & domes / ribbons or panels.
To prove the point we are currently seeking
dedicated audiophiles and music industry professionals to participate in
our most ambitious project to date. Starting in spring 2008 we will be
organising a series of the "ultimate shoot out's" between any super
systems (over £150k sterling with no upper limit) and our £50K Finale
system. We will travel to any location in mainland Europe and set up our
system. Depending on the size of the venue and the wishes of the owner an
independent panel of 5 to10 people will be invited to attend the 3 day
event. Depending on location the independent listening panel will consist
of musicians, recording industry professionals, and high end audio
journalists. Conventional brands of particular interest are; Apogee,
Avalon, Siltec Pantheon 25, Marten Design, Linn, MBL, Meridian, Goldmund,
