What can we say about the Finale without
using too many cliché’s and hyperbole? They are our flagship design and we
are immensely proud of them. There, now you can go straight to the

Point source is universally acknowledged as
the “holy grail” of loudspeaker design and, from 300Hz up, we are already
home and dry with the Prey. So for our Finale we concentrated on the
ultimate performance below 300Hz. The Predator subwoofers are the
undisputed, undefeated “king of the hill” below 100 Hz so by a process of
elimination we only needed to address the narrow, but crucial, 100Hz to
300Hz band. We needed blinding speed to keep up with the 13Us rise and
settling time of the Prey so our unique open baffle design was the obvious
choice right out of the gate. We also needed a single 10” point source
driver (instead of the Angels twin 8” drivers) per cabinet, capable of
handling the critical 100Hz to 300Hz power band. For most vocals and many
instruments this power band is “make or break” and the Angels set the bar
so high we had to come up with something really special.
Well we have, a proprietary 10” driver with
a massive 8Kg symmetrical field magnet surrounding a 75mm (3 inch) voice
coil and a customised Bl to Mms ratio of 3.25. After nearly a year of R&D
blending and balancing the electrical & mechanical properties of the
driver with the varying curvature & dimensions of our open baffle sides we
finally (Finale …!) hit the mark.
The low midrange driver cabinet is truly
overkill engineering, despite compact dimensions of 420mm tall, 400mm wide
and 550mm deep we use 30mm Corian for the front baffle and 25mm for all
the other panels. A compact open baffle bass / low mid cabinet weighing
42Kg! Massively ridged and totally inert this cabinet locks down onto the
top of the Predator subwoofer using custom Sistrum technology mounting
hardware.
